Oh wow! I really AM deliriously excited to share news this morning that I finally hit Amazon *whoo whooo*
All this has come about in lightening-quick time and from totally unexpected sources so I’d love for you to spend a moment with me and a cup of tea to find out how magical things really CAN happen – who knows, I could be sharing news of your Kindle publication here very soon, too!
Callie’s Story: My Journey to Becoming a Breast Cancer Warrior Goddess
available now as a Kindle download from
So are you ready with your cup of tea? Well, this is how the magic happened:
I am taking part in the NaNoWriMo challenge this November and I already have a publisher for the finished book. Well, if ever there was a prompt to really get something completed, that surely has to be it?!
Anyhow, I have been a … *cough* … vocal ambassador for those dealing with breast cancer since my own diagnosis back in May 2011. Never shy from sharing on Facebook some of the highs and lows of my own personal ding-dong with cancer treatment, to be honest I had no idea how many people had read my updates. So I was surprised, and very honoured, to be approached by Sarupa Shah in September to ask whether I would consider sharing my story with Birds on The Blog readers. They were planning on sharing one reader’s story every day for the month of October, in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I finally sat down one gloomy afternoon and shared my answers to a few very simple interview questions. I pressed the ‘Send’ button and then promptly forgot about it for a few weeks, as you do!
To cut a rambling story short, dearest Sarupa shared that my submitted interview was live on Birds on the Blog, Sunday 14th October, so I quickly shared the link to the interview via Facebook for my friends to read. The feedback made me a l’il bit tearful but I was delighted to see so many people sharing : one of my HUGE tasks in this life is to try to turn around the perception of Cancer, by trying to take the sting out of the heart-stopping fear that that ONE single word can induce in us all.
Another lovely new friend via Facebook, Claire Meadows, also shared the interview link. I had met Claire just the week before via the AfterNyne magazine when she shared news of The Haven‘s Christmas Carol Concert on 12th December 2012. At that point, I had no idea that Claire was the founder of Tempest Press or, indeed, also worked in book publishing.
I was overawed by some of the beautiful comments shared on interview that week:

On Tuesday afternoon, just 2 days after the interview had published, I received a message from Claire (bless her, such an angel with a huge heart) who wished to share my story as an e-book! Huge blessings to Sarah Arrow for her kindnesss in agreeing that this could be reprinted … and before I knew it, we had an ebook ready to go live on Kindle today. So much has happened in just EIGHT days that I still feel giddy from all the excitement and need a strong cup of tea to help get me to settle down and work *hehe*
So yes, all it needed was a little bit of magic and look what happened … imagine what can happen to YOU if you open up, breathe and allow space for creativity to flow in your life. What magic would YOU like to invite into your life?
One of the biggies about this publishing adventure with Claire is that we are donating monies from sales of the Kindle downloads to The Haven, a special breast cancer charity here in the UK that I owe my sanity to.
So please feel free to share the links as much as you can – it’s only a short story but I hope that it will help people to see breast cancer from a different perspective.
With love & gratitude to you for sharing a cup of tea with me today and reading this blog post; with love and gratitude to all who have made this l’il dream of mine come true … and with love & gratitude to all those who have shared the beginning of my journey with me. Onwards and upwards for all us Breast Cancer Warrior Goddesses!
