Slow goals down to take babysteps

A sparkly new week beckons, along with adventure waiting to be dreamed up and unleashed on to an unsuspecting world!

Today was meant to be a fairly quiet week after a full-on weekend, where I was lucky enough to go visit Wembley Stadium and watch Senegal v Mexico in the London2012 Olympics : the atmosphere was electric, yet totally family-friendly, a real joy and pleasure to be part of 80,000+ people celebrating.

BabystepsHowever, as part of my baby steps towards vibrant, glowing health, I had booked on to a yoga class. The first class I had attended since signing up for a year’s membership at our local David Lloyd’s gym last week. (Let us skip over my 1-2-1 Personal Training session last Friday; I still break out into a cold sweat when I think of the pain I had to endure!)

And would you just know it? It turned out to be an ADVANCED class. Pffft! There was me, feeling reassured that it said the class was good for people of all levels, all abilities. Still, I was very happy that I managed to do some of the poses, even if I did sweat half my bodyweight during the class. Despite hobbling home, feeling worse for wear, I felt jubilant that I had survived the class and was visualising myself with a healthy, toned body that could endure 60 minutes of punishment without too much pain … what a great way to visualise myself, I thought!

Celestial Notebook’s weekly forecast hit the nail on the head for me, as I will share here:

On Wednesday Mercury, God of Communication, turns direct at 1° 25’ Leo. Mercury retrograde denotes a time to rest and recuperate and allowing the unconscious to work – progress is measured by looking back and seeing how far you have come. While Mercury is moving as slow as it does this week, your mind can be more deliberate in its evaluations and thus reconsiderations; a constructive time for reappraisal. Mercury stationary (mainly Wednesday) often precipitates an inner crisis in which you feel you need to come to grips with new ways of communicating to further deeper understanding and have your needs met.

What is experienced but not said holds you back – not telling it how it is creates deadness. When there is no connection, abundance cannot be created. The truth creates a line of connection and your level of connection generates abundance – not just money, but joy, happiness, creativity and all the good things in life.

On Tuesday Venus, representing your ability to create harmony in your life, says goodbye to the carousel that is Gemini and slips into the deep waters of Cancer – a sign in which she thrives. A soft energy abounds while Venus is in Cancer and it will be easier to help others feel as if they belong. Cancer is a sign related to the past and you or others could be more clingy and less inclined to let go. Venus is seen as a favourable planet but could also indicate indulgence – Venus is all about finding balance between work and play.

So it is with much relief that I note the auspicious planets are supporting me in my endeavour to take babysteps as I dedicate myself 70% of my waking-time to getting fit, relaxing, recharging and rebranding myself and my business. For the next few months, my babysteps will work on focusing and fine-tuning my mind, my body, my spirit; in search of that perfect balance to look after myself while supporting others.

I guess I will need to add a little bit more time to my diary after gym classes to make sure I get some recharge-time, if my performance today was an indicator of what is to come! *giggle*

What could be your babysteps in helping YOU to rest, relax and aim to find a healthy balance between work and play?
